Hands / Torrey Maldonado. - 135 p. ; 22 cm.

Trev would do anything to protect his mom and sisters, especially from the stepdad. When his stepdad left, he threatened Trev's mom, and now that he's coming back, Trev is stressed. Instead of staying scared, he takes matters into his own hands, literally, by learning to box. He figures if he knows how to throw hands and build himself up, nobody can knock him down. But not everyone's a fan of Trev's plan, becuase he's a talented artist, and his hands could help him build a better future. And they're letting him know fighting isn't the path to that future. But their advice feels useless in his reality right now, at a time when Trev's feeling threatened by his sister's disrespectful boyfriend. Because how do you handle a troublemaker who only understands talking with fists? Ultimately, though, Trev knows his future is in his hands, and he has to choose how to use them.
